Google® is really starting to piss me off. The silly bastards have made changes in the last two or so months that are stupid / unnecessary / wrong / regressive in their email application, and web pages. What to do? Moving to another email client is a giant pain in the ass…………. How in the wide, wide world of sports is it considered an advance when it takes three clicks to get where one or two clicks used to work? Only a feeble mind would invoke change just for the sake of change. Or a fashion designer. Maybe the code writers have plugs in their noses and ears now……….. What I mean to say is they have lost their grip on reality –
Dictionary.reference.com on the other hand, made a marvelous change to their web page (which was already very user friendly / intuitive). They assumed that the text box for searching a new word would be the default function: ergo, the cursor is inserted into the text box ready to receive (Bill Cosby – we will receive, we will receive!) after every carriage return (enter) keystroke. Saves a mouse / pointer direct and click. Simply awesome….. –
I wonder if the wizards at Google actually use their own products? And if they do, what do they use them to do? Couldn’t be what I use them for, or how I use them, because they’ve added much complexity to what was already a pain in the ass so it is now a complex pain in the ass. What a bunch of asses to assess…..
My work ethic is strong. My attitude is deplorable. My desire is immense. My gyro has toppled……………
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
So much internal strife in our BFF country. This week the cartooning has been prolific, with a certain mulatto taking the brunt. He can’t open his mouth without sticking his foot (or two) in it. The houses of Congress don’t get a pass, either………….

Tom Clancy has died. Terrible loss for the action / military fiction readers of the world.
A typical obituary can be read here: http://www.tmz.com/2013/10/02/tom-clancy-dead-dies-author/
His character Jack Ryan epitomized many admirable traits to me. Who will replace this man? What a loss………..
THE POWER OF CREATIVE HUMAN BEINGS
I’ve always wondered how the Hendricks organization was so successful in NASCAR. This is part of the answer. Richie Parker is a design engineer with Hendricks. He was born without arms. Nothing can stop the power of human ingenuity:
HUMOROUS, WITTY, STUPID, POLITICAL
GUNS, GUNNERY, GUNNERS
A short video about life on board a World War II aircraft carrier. Some big balls Bambi:
SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ASTOUNDING STUFF
Gears in nature. An organism which uses gears to synchronize it’s legs. No shit! The insect Issus jumps for locomotion. The biological “gears” allow it to time it’s legs for optimum effect:
A picture from the article –
I’ve often wondered why beer helps me solve problems. Can’t figure something out? Need a new approach? A couple of beers seems to open (creative) doors. Here’s some lay research on beer vs coffee in relation to creativity:
The following pretty well sums up the coffee effect –
Beer DOES stimulate creativity, but DOESN’T improve detailed, exacting, intricate work. No more accounting while drinking, David!
WORLD CLASS DOLTS, IDIOTS, FOOLS, CHARLATANS, BOGYMEN (new, essential category)
SIR Bob Geldof is a twat. In no charitable sense of the word. Idiots like him (and Al Gore, David Suzuki, the UN, et cetera) continue to spew garbage that is awarded gravitas where none is due or supportable – as if being a rock singer (of no acclaim), a “fruit fly guy”, the “inventor of the Internet®” makes you an expert at ANYTHING, let alone the subject of current eructation. In case no one notices, THIS KIND OF SHITE FRIGHTENS CHILDREN, THE GREAT MASS OF MIS AND UN INFORMED, THE STUPID, AND THE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED. What to do? No need to “ban” free speech. The burden lies with the audience, since these shameless “performers” won’t shut up, and probably believe the drivel they generate ad nauseam. About as welcome as projectile vomiting:
This is not viewed as “theatre of the absurd” as much as it obviously is. Somehow these buffoons (missed that slur in the title above) gain an audience, a platform, and influence. ________ help us! (insert your authority of choice in the blank space). Hint: the authority you choose should be yourself…… Following is a careful analysis of Mr. Geldof’s earlier work / influence, “Live Aid”, and the subsequent effect / affect. An analysis from August 2010 by R.J. Stove titled “An Anatomy of a Swindle: Live Aid, 25 Years On”:
Beware gullible ones (I’m a charter member of the Gulliblies). Don’t be duped out of your common sense by celebrity. A Thomas Sowell quote as advice (not as an inclusion to this category!) –
Another thoughtful quote from Bernard Goldberg. Beware the media with bias / an agenda –
PHILOSOPHERS, PHILOSOPHY, SMART TALK, GOOD QUOTES
Quote ‘o the week: “It will never be known what acts of cowardice have been motivated by the fear of not looking sufficiently progressive.” – Charles Peguy (1905) (from the above link re: Live Aid)
THE RELIGION OF PEACE (ON US DHIMIS)
From http://www.answeringmuslims.com/ website, a very intuitive commentary on the Kenya mall massacre by David Wood:
When will the politicians wake up? I say when they no longer live in isolation from the problem. I say when they are in the streets with the common people…..
Today’s oration from Christopher Hitchens, titled “Christopher Hitchens vs God”:
Rain rain go away. Let me see some sun today. And tomorrow, too. Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgh!
