Quote o’ the Week
“If we open a quarrel between past and present, we shall find that we have lost the future.” – Winston Churchill
Smart Kids
Joe and I think IQ is a huge factor in successful living. We wish we had lots more!
When we were a young child, there were programs in the schools to help identify and cultivate the special people – the very intelligent kids.
Although the current education system(s) seem to place social skills ahead of subject performance, there are still opportunities for the bright kids to excel.
Read this article called “How to Raise a Genius: Lessons from a 45-Year Study of Super Smart Children“.
Ban Islam
Joe and I are taking sides. If you haven’t noticed.
Q. How do you measure the “health” of a culture?
A. By observing the “freedom” of its citizens, most especially women and children.
The “weaker sex” (physically weaker in gross measure) is at a disadvantage in a physical confrontation. Fact.
Western culture, by ignoring the facts, cannot square the circle with Islam as long as the basic tenants of this “religion” are given wide berth from criticism or analysis.
The French have got the correct approach in the “burkini” disputation. It is a step, not necessarily too cowardly, in the right direction.
By making it impossible for the rapists and abusers to target the victim – anyone NOT dressed in the garb of the protected ones.
Daniel Greenfield of the SultanKnish website expounds on this position here.
Quotes from the article –
“Does it matter what Muslim women wear to the beach? Arguably the government should not be getting involved in swimwear. But the clothing of Muslim women is not a personal fashion choice.
Muslim women don’t wear hijabs, burkas or any other similar garb as a fashion statement or even an expression of religious piety. Their own religion tells us exactly why they wear them.
“O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies that they may thus be distinguished and not molested.” (Koran 33:59)
It’s not about modesty. It’s not about religion. It’s about putting a “Do Not Rape” sign on Muslim women. And putting a “Free to Molest” sign on non-Muslim women. ”
Joe and I checked out the Koran (Quran / Qu’ran / whatever) 33:59 – that’s what it says….
Seems to me the French are starting to understand what they are up against, and have decided NOT TO SUBMIT.
Vive la Brie!
Instead, they are fighting by disabling the sorting mechanism. More from the article –
“In the Islamic worldview, sexual violence is the fault of the victim, not the perpetrator. From the dancing boys of Afghanistan to the abused women of Egypt, the fact of the assault proves the guilt of the child or the woman who was assaulted.
“If you take uncovered meat and put it on the street, on the pavement, in a garden, in a park or in the backyard, without a cover and the cats eat it, is it the fault of the cat or the uncovered meat?” the Grand Mufti of Australia said. “The uncovered meat is the problem.”
The Grand Mufti wasn’t discussing cats or meat. He was talking about gang rapes by fourteen Muslim men. “If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred,” he said.
This is why there is a burka ban and a burkini ban. It’s why there should be a hijab ban. The existence of these garments gives license to Muslim men to target non-Muslim women. They allow Islamists to impose them as a standard by singling out women who don’t wear them. And they encourage Muslim men to carry out assaults on non-Muslim women who don’t comply with Islamic law. ”
Joe and I condone the French response, and hope they have the French version of balls to kick that religion back to the stone age where it belongs.
We maintain that if push comes to shove, if religion is mandatory, if one must choose without option, Christianity is the choice.
They’ve got the best music….. only in the West.
More of Daniel Greenfield on the counter-jihad:
Joe and I, with heavy hearts, agree with his analysis – a war is inevitable.
The question is how much more suffering will the West endure before saying enough is enough?
Trump Or Bust – the Davos Class
It is horrifying to watch a once proud nation commit slow-motion self immolation.
The new warfare is insidious; no cannons blazing, men dropping, cities razed to the ground.
The new warfare is sneaky sneaky, brain-washing the children through a completely radicalized leftist education system, taxing performance, nullifying free speech, and placing the world governance agenda above national, local, or personal objectives. Self sacrifice with other peoples wealth, other peoples future, our children’s freedom.
We are not of the “Davos Class”.
Publius Decius Mus calls the U.S. 2016 general election the “Flight 93 Election“. Click the link to read his rationale.
Quotes from the article –
“How have the last two decades worked out for you, personally? If you’re a member or fellow-traveler of the Davos class, chances are: pretty well. If you’re among the subspecies conservative intellectual or politician, you’ve accepted—perhaps not consciously, but unmistakably—your status on the roster of the Washington Generals of American politics. Your job is to show up and lose, but you are a necessary part of the show and you do get paid. To the extent that you are ever on the winning side of anything, it’s as sophists who help the Davoisie oligarchy rationalize open borders, lower wages, outsourcing, de-industrialization, trade giveaways, and endless, pointless, winless war.
All of Trump’s 16 Republican competitors would have ensured more of the same—as will the election of Hillary Clinton. That would be bad enough. But at least Republicans are merely reactive when it comes to wholesale cultural and political change. Their “opposition” may be in all cases ineffectual and often indistinguishable from support. But they don’t dream up inanities like 32 “genders,” elective bathrooms, single-payer, Iran sycophancy, “Islamophobia,” and Black Lives Matter. They merely help ratify them.”
………
“The election of 2016 is a test—in my view, the final test—of whether there is any virtù left in what used to be the core of the American nation. If they cannot rouse themselves simply to vote for the first candidate in a generation who pledges to advance their interests, and to vote against the one who openly boasts that she will do the opposite (a million more Syrians, anyone?), then they are doomed. They may not deserve the fate that will befall them, but they will suffer it regardless.”
Joe and I buy into the argument as follows: when, precisely, does a can of condensed soup become something other than soup when you add water? The recipe calls for 1:1 – one can of water per can of soup. Two cans of water to one can of soup concentrate is still identifiable as soup. How about three to one? Ten to one? When, precisely, are we dealing with dirty water, not soup? Conservatism has become conservatism and is heading full speed ahead to be “the honorable opposition” against the leftist behemoth.
Joe and I are Libertarian ideologically, Conservative in practice, and very concerned about the future for the children.
For a quick read on the “Davos Class“, go here (a biased read but you’ll fathom the implications).
Ben Shapiro sees it differently. We are not sure if it is because the argument of Publius is false, or Mr. Shapiro wishes he had written the piece. See Mr. Shapiro’s rebuttal here.
Parkinson’s and Hillary
The Democratic party in the U.S.A. is complicit in the promotion of H. R. Clinton as a viable candidate in the upcoming election for President.
Joe and I think she is the epitome of a corrupt political figure. She and her paramour are thieves, unethical power hungry psychopaths. The clock is ticking as the video evidence stacks up that there is something seriously deficient with her health:
Another bit of video which reinforces the speculation in the above video. Mrs. Bill collapses after leaving the Ground Zero Memorial Service today (9/11). Her time is up:
POLITICS, POLITICIANS, WACKJOBBERY, HUMOROUS, STUPID
THE RELIGION OF PEACE (ALL OVER US)
Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from a recent American Freedom Alliance conference on coexistence with Islam.
Joe and I have the utmost respect for these two brave people who have to travel with security because of death threats from the purveyors of the “religion of peace”:
SUNDAY SERMON
John Bolton should be the Secretary of State.
His experience as an ambassador and foreign affairs official for over twenty years make him a prime candidate.
He is a conservative. Appointment to the position of Secretary of State will depend on a Republican president.
What are the chances?
This is his address to the attendees of the American Freedom Alliance conference:
WEATHER (OR NOT)
This week in Vernon was (again!) below average in temperature for this time of year. Autumn is insisting on being here early. The mountain ash in front of the house has dropped most of it’s berries (unusual – first time in 11 years). Rain, wind, cloud.
We have stubbornly refused to turn on the furnace to date. Can we make it to October? Can we make it to the official first day of fall?
Stay tuned….
