“Enthusiasm for a cause sometimes warps judgement.”
― William Howard Taft
Or, as in my case, almost always warps judgement. So saith this ranter………
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
A short dissertation on American foreign policy:
http://suckersonparade.blogspot.ca/2013/09/democrats-suddenly-realize-what-they.html
Quote –
“As we await Congress’s decision on authorizing the use of U.S. military force in Syria, Democrats are suddenly realizing that their foreign-policy brain-trust completely misjudged the world.
Being nicer to countries like Russia will not make them nicer to you. The United Nations is not an effective tool for resolving crises. Some foreign leaders are beyond persuasion and diplomacy. There is no “international community” ready to work together to solve problems, and there probably never will be…..”
Canada’s Mark Steyn on the Syrian fiasco:

Proof positive that Mr. Steyn is an extraordinary pundit as well as humorist………
The shame of Benghazi cannot be forgotten –
A repeat for sure. Essential to remember –
AUSTRALIA
The Australian election returned a conservative majority to power:

My top fantasy country that I would like to live in and stay…….
INTERRACIAL VIOLENCE (In America)
An interesting article about the validity of data when calculating interracial violence in America. As John Derbyshire points out, the most recent numbers are frightening, even more so if they are gathered accurately:
http://www.vdare.com/articles/black-on-white-crime-if-you-want-to-get-to-grips-with-hatefacts
The article is filled with worthwhile links, one of which is an excellent article by Ron Unz titled “Race and Crime in America”:

Joe Mekanic says it is very difficult to arrive at the correct conclusion with tainted, incomplete, or inaccurate data. The process to validate is to make what conclusions you can, re-sample the data, and analyze again until you have an accurate data set.
INCREDULOUS, POLITICAL, HUMOROUS, STUPID
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of
the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.” – H. L. Mencken
A “compare and contrast” set –
GUNS, GUNNERS, GUNNERY
A victory for gun owners in Colorado…… Democrat lawmakers “fired” for trying to pass restrictive gun control law:

PHILOSOPHERS, PHILOSOPHY, PHILOSOPHIC
This is a photograph of Albert Einstein’s office on the day of his death –
Gavin McInnes says “I’m not scared of other cultures, I just think they suck:
http://streetcarnage.com/blog/im-not-scared-of-other-cultures-i-just-think-they-suck/
A philosophy I find myself nodding in agreement with…….
RELIGION OF PEACE (ON ALL OF US DHIMIS)
Although I agree with the above statement, one caveat is necessary – adults only. I couldn’t restrict it to intelligence, because there is very little to be found in the following story of a Muslim environment. Here is a tragic tale about an 8 year old girl who died on her marriage bed. Rape is not a strong enough word to describe this savagery. When I read about these types of events, I become irrational. I would push the button, drop the gallows floor, pull the trigger, plunge the syringe, even swing the machete to end the life of such abject caricatures of men. Just because it is upright on two and has external plumbing does NOT make it a man:
Let’s hear it again for moral equivalence…….. There is no mental gymnastic that can rationalize or condone such behavior.
SUNDAY SERMON
An excellent debate between Christopher Hitchens and Alister McGrath, subject religion – evil or beneficent?:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKdZT7r2-RY&list=TLD1uU7zKqju0
Very convincing argument from Mr. Hitchens. Very emotional argument from Mr. McGrath.
WEATHER
Nothing but blue skies and summer like temperatures this week. No complaints, no aches, no pains, no worries….. Viva Verano!!
Joe (Blissful) Mekanic
