A study from Britain maintains women (generally) are politically ambivalent. The question “why?” is overshadowed by the question “what does this mean in a “democracy”?”:

Is it not the height of ignorance to vote for a person because you like the way they look? Or the way they move? Or if they have “nice” hair? Or you extrapolate / project from vague statements the outcome you want? WTF?? Voting in a representative “democracy” requires certain standards be met by the voter. Otherwise, the message sent is “it makes no difference whom you vote for – the outcome will be the same”. It is never the same. But like the legal pratfall of not going down each path when you come to a fork in the road, the other outcome will never be known. From the above article it appears that women are slightly more prone to ignoring the reality.

I have been drunk in a public place before. I have NEVER been drunk and disorderly in a public place to my recollection. I am (in my older years) a “3 beer snoozer” – after one beer I laugh and smile, after two I joke and sing, after three I’m looking for a nap. The Indian dudes in the above video seem to think the white man is the source of all their troubles. As I used to point out to the Indians in my workshops (and Pakistanis, Asians, AND WHITES) if it wasn’t the white man, it would be the yellow man, or the black man, or the brown man, or the milk man, or some other God damned man (or woman – ladies are not exempt). If you think believe you are being oppressed, by all means use the legal system or the social network you have, or the community you live in to redress your grievance. I do not dismiss the statement of the video author when he says prior to videoing the episode the two fellows harassed a woman who left the bus because she was uncomfortable (or had reached her stop). The solution per D.J. Drover (and Joe Mekanic) is LANGUAGE. Unfortunately, drunks and comprehension don’t often occupy overlapping sets…… Instead of teaching gay, lesbian,transexual, transgender studies to post pubescent children in K – 12 (they will, for better or worse – learn all about it from their peers, parents, culture), why not teach some of the rudimentary tools required to cope as an adult? Teach them how to manage money, respect other people as individuals, and how to initiate confrontation (it’s not a bad word). Communication skills are required to deal with conflict. If you can’t resolve your conflicts (which may not be universally understood) there is not a hope in Hell of reaching a solution. Have a nice (drunken) day.

I eat a lot of avocado. I have started a dozen trees. I now think of the avocado nut as a very young sapling…… Looked on the counter and saw more than a dozen nuts. Haven’t enough empty yogurt containers to start them all growing. What to do? RESEARCH!!!

The Englishman in me can’t stand to throw anything away – I’m a cheap bastard I am. Let’s eat the damn seeds from the avocado. They are about 1/4 of the fruit, and if the above is true it might be healthy too. Offset the beer intake (dreaming). Down side? The seed is bitter. Solution? Make a smoothie! The following is Joe Mekanic’s #5 Pit Crunch recipe –
In a blender, add:
- 1 cup milk
- 1 avocado seed (boil in water for 3 minutes before using)
Blend using pulse until the seed is pulverized. Then add the following:
- 3 bananas
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/2 cup cranberries
- 1 cup Kirkland frozen 3 berry mix (
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1/2 cup Kirkland Fruit & Nut trail mix
- 1 asprin
Blend until smooth.
Makes 3 large glasses of about 12 ounces – three days worth if yer all alone.
