Sunday Rant – 2720

PN:

Joe’s Comment – Mr. Schulz captures the moment.
I stay busy most days.  Try my hand at auto/truck/machine repair, electric and electronic repair, house renovations, a bit of fabrication.
I read and research and watch a lot of videos to improve my knowledge, learn new skills (I learned how to fold a tee shirt and a pair of jeans this week), and explore unknown territory.
I try to write, too.
If you ask me, I’m average or better at most.
Definitely a “Jack of all Trades”, but I’m no master of any particular skill.
Down below in “Joe’s Garage” there is a tiny house, built on a trailer by an artistic Canadian by the name of Matt Emig.
It is a marvelous creation.
Beyond my creative capabilities.
In perspective, I’m Charlie Brown in the above cartoon, because the trailer tiny house is a Linus-level creation.
If practice makes perfect, how do you know?
Like most, I think I know perfection when I see it.
But I know damn well I haven’t created any perfection, ever.
Gotta up my game, keep trying.

Canada Day
Joe and I are born Canadians.
In our heart-of-hearts.
We moan and piss about moving to the USA, but we secretly enjoy winter for 7 months a year are Canadian, through and through.
Quick Dick McDick does a good job of celebrating Canada, being Canadian, and Canada Day:

We also love the U.S. of A.
And the brave young liberty seekers in Hong Kong.
Mike Pompeo wishes all of us freedom, liberty, and a path forward:

From Joe and me – Happy happy!  Canada day, Independence Day, and Free Hong Kong!
COVID – 19 be damned.
Get out in the weather (maybe sunny weather?) and rejoice that you don’t live in any other place.
Let’s face it, we’ve got it so good that we expect it to get better, without effort on our part.
Let the good times roll!:

And remember this –

Jordan Peterson
An “interview” with Mikhaila and Jordan Peterson.
Actually, more of a reflection and recollection.
The good doctor and his family had one hell of a year:

Quick Dick McDick
Joe and I are fans of all things Saskatchewan (excepting, of course, the ridiculously sub-freezing winters!!).
Our very own mama was born in Ituna.
Actually, she was born near Ituna in a farm house on a farm.
That is an historical matter.
QDMcD has hit another ball out of the park with his interview of Chief Rainbow Socks, aka Little Gay.
The Canadian political scene is enough to make a citizen cringe.
Thank doG for hard-hitting news programs like “Eye on Tuffnell”:

Honest Johns
These men tell it like they see it.
A gathering storm.
Some COVID-19 inspired.
Some “the times they are a changin'” (Robert Zimmerman has a skinny neck):

Talk about gathering wool!
A note to the meek and mild – these men (and women, we presume) are not alone:

Space Inspiration
Joe and I spent an inordinate amount of our young life dreaming about being a space traveler.
Our favorite was Tom Corbett, Space Cadet.
We spent many a cold winter evening after a visit to the public library reading the adventures of Tom, Astro, and Roger, for all the world living and breathing along with them, our young mind on fire.
We didn’t have a television and when we did, Tom Corbett, Space Cadet wasn’t on the two channel choice in Elliott Lake, Ontario.
To know us is to know we dream, we think, we plan, and if there is time, we do.
Sometimes we think, we dream, we plan, we dream, we don’t do.
Often a crap shoot.
When the American space program of the ’60’s landed men on the moon, not once, not twice, but 6 times, the world was peachy keen.
Since then a broadening of technology, establishment of an international space station, the advent of computers infiltrating all endeavors of man, the moon was left in silence.
The absolute low was the Jug Ears administration (Obambi) re-assigning NASA to make nice with Muslims!!!  (WTF!  Note to selves – never elect a men’s bathhouse vamp to such high office).
Along comes a different kind of President.
He creates a “Space Force”.
We found this little bit of inspiration very inspirational.
America vows to be on the moon by 2024.
If Joe and I eat like a carnivore, do mental exercises daily, and work around the house (any house) to keep our fine hairy sculpted physique in fine fettle, we should live long enough to see the miracle twice in our lifetime.
We continue to dream, but the youngsters today were born without the miracle of space flight to other celestial bodies as a pseudo-normal aspiration.
Time to dream bigger again:

Tiny House Extraordinaire
This video chronicles a very special “tiny house” project built by a west coast Canadian man, Matt Emig.
Joe and I appreciate the artistry, the functionality, and the attention to detail.
This is a work of art that you can live in.
Double bonus extra:

Thorium Reactor Progress
Joe and I endorse nuclear energy.
Always have.
Safest, most dependable, cleanest and most environmentally benign.
Our question is why aren’t the smarty pants folks in the West building us some?
Here is part of the answer to that question (thanks Brian S.), presented by Lars Jorgensen:

POLITICS, POLITICIANS, WACKJOBBERY, HUMOROUS, STUPID

This week I copied a number of pictures/memes from a website called “Politically Incorrect Canadian“.
Why?
‘Cause they’re so awesome!
Enjoy some here, or go to the link above –

SUNDAY SERMON

This week Dinesh D’Souza is commenting on the current affairs in America: statue defacing and toppling, “democratic Socialism”, progressive transgressions.
The interviewer is Jan Jekielek, for American Thought Leaders (The Epoch Times).
Mr. D’Souza reveals the true intent underneath the proclaimed justification for the unlawful and disruptive “protesting”:

WEATHER (OR NOT)

Another week of unsettled.
Clouds, rain, some wind, some sun.
Still not dry enough to frame up the sidewalk next to the back patio.
Might have to use paving blocks or squares, just to get it done sometime soon.
Spent most of the week in the basement doing framing and drywall.
Today, Sunday, it didn’t rain a drop.
Could this be a sign?
Alas, the forecast says rain next week.
A thought crossed Joe’s little pea brain today…..
Aircraft, ships, and civilian use of fuel has been depressed for 4 months.
Hundreds of millions of barrels of oil haven’t been burnt.
Does it have an effect on the weather?
Joe is obviously looking for a scapegoat.
Oh!  For a sunny hot week, soon!
