Joe’s Comment – Damn if it ain’t true! From a colossal 5’11” as a high school doofus, the enormity of Joe is now 5’9½”. There is probably an equivalent drop in IQ, testosterone, eyesight, hearing, and endurance, too.
I reckon it peculiar (and symetrical) that when an infant joins the world, it is measured in parts of an inch, parts of a pound (or Metric if you wish), and ages in days and months.
So true when you get old, older, oldest, too.
Life is a parabolic trajectory.
Pretty funny if you want the facts.
My life may be wearing me down, but it has never been as interesting or valuable.

Joe and I were alive when Sally Struthers (actress) aired commercials on TV supporting charity for impoverished African countries.
Joe and I recollect Sally (and her ilk) begging for charitable donations for various African countries or cultures all the time we were growing up. Example:
The above ad dates from the mid ’70’s.
At the time, the population of Ethiopia was just over 33 million souls.
The population in 2018 is estimated at 107 million souls.
Amazing gains for an impoverished area.
This is “r” reproductive strategy.
The GDP per capita was calculated at $549.80 USD for 2017.
The earliest record we found on line was $190.00 USD for 1980.
This is the third poorest country in the world.

As the graph shows, the United States alone contributed over 28 billion USD from 2013 – 2015 to various African countries. Also, Canada made the top 10 donators, placing 6th. More information at the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development).
On the other side of the equation are countries (in and out of Africa) colonized by European nations.
There is an argument that colonization for many countries (especially in Africa) was a net benefit for the indigenous peoples.

I say low IQ.
Low enough to inhibit development and progress.
Corruption runs rampant.

Every time Mr. Taylor does manage to speak, she quickly deflects, denies, or changes the subject when she realizes how flimsy her argument.
Joe and I have seen this data in too many formats, forums, and papers to question Mr. Taylor’s quoting them.
We also don’t argue strenuously against his desire, and his motivation.

WEATHER (OR NOT)
Old Man Winter is down for the count.
The weather in Vernon BC this week has been gradually warming during the day, with below zero Celsius overnight.
The snow (one last go on Tuesday) is gradually receding.
Today (Sunday) was mild enough for T shirt only when in the sun.
Joe and I think that old people die in larger numbers in the winter.
The sun felt so good on our old wrinkled skin we flirted with dozing off, sitting in a chair in the sunlight without a care.
Got a vitamin D high.
