Joe’s Comment – Damn if it ain’t true! From a colossal 5’11” as a high school doofus, the enormity of Joe is now 5’9½”. There is probably an equivalent drop in IQ, testosterone, eyesight, hearing, and endurance, too.
I reckon it peculiar (and symetrical) that when an infant joins the world, it is measured in parts of an inch, parts of a pound (or Metric if you wish), and ages in days and months.
So true when you get old, older, oldest, too.
Life is a parabolic trajectory.
Pretty funny if you want the facts.
My life may be wearing me down, but it has never been as interesting or valuable.
I go to bed with a smile and wake with a grin.
Ready for the challenge of the day.
For what else is there?
Katharine Hepburn summed it aptly –
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (aka Occasional-Cortex, O’Crazio-Kotex, Nieman-Marxist, She-Guevara, Occasional-Kotex) won a seat in the US Congress by winning an election in the New York 14th House District.
She is a
good looking Puerto Rican comely female –
Her good looks, youth, and energy are offset by a less than stellar resumè.
Listen to her speak; there is contradiction.
Much like the Munificent Mulatto (aka Barry Soetoro, Barack Hussein Obama, Obummer, Gaybama, Jug Ears, Maobama, more here) the on-script performance of speeches and interviews from notes or teleprompter is well formulated and delivered with passion and conviction.
However, the off-script ad hoc improvised speech is jumbled, confusing, disconnected, or downright loony.
Joe says this does not compute.
How did this pretty bartender sweep the election, then go on to rattle the cage of the entire Democrat Party?
Here’s a few facts about her head of staff – a known fascist bastard lover – Saikat Chakrabarti –
How would a pretty bartender know such a man?
Mr Regan has a theory.
The theory is believable because it is based on the words of the players.
This is a multi-pronged attempt to take over the Democrat Party.
The big fat liar heading “The Young Turks” website, Cenk Uygur, played a role in promoting “The Justice Democrats”, who advertised the role of Congress person as a casting call. They received 10,000+ applications.
They chose She Guevara:
Joe and I may be country bumpkins.
We for sure, no foolin’, are dirt people.
No contest from us.
And don’t we wish we were born yesterday! (That would make us 1 day old.)
To think this isn’t politics as usual is naive beyond our usual starry-eyed Kumbaya gee ain’t life grand optimism.
With all the power of this platform, of our towering influence, our razor-honed intellect, Joe and I pondered a proper well measured comment on this travesty.
Our considered position is to change the title of this segment to reflect on a movie starring Kevin Costner and Julia Roberts – in short, this is a story about a beautiful woman who is a prostitute-for-hire.
C’est la guerre.
C’est la vie.
C’est la pomme de terre.
That’s all the trope we got.
The Q is, is it enough?
Colonization (for the Nation)
Joe and I were alive when Sally Struthers (actress) aired commercials on TV supporting charity for impoverished African countries.
Joe and I recollect Sally (and her ilk) begging for charitable donations for various African countries or cultures all the time we were growing up. Example:
The above ad dates from the mid ’70’s.
At the time, the population of Ethiopia was just over 33 million souls.
The population in 2018 is estimated at 107 million souls.
Amazing gains for an impoverished area.
This is “r” reproductive strategy.
The GDP per capita was calculated at $549.80 USD for 2017.
The earliest record we found on line was $190.00 USD for 1980.
This is the third poorest country in the world.
Snap quiz: who colonized Ethiopia?
Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, BONG!
Ethiopia was not colonized during the “Scramble for Africa“.
A PDF document of development aid to Africa (2017) here. A graph from the document –
As the graph shows, the United States alone contributed over 28 billion USD from 2013 – 2015 to various African countries. Also, Canada made the top 10 donators, placing 6th. More information at the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development).
On the other side of the equation are countries (in and out of Africa) colonized by European nations.
There is an argument that colonization for many countries (especially in Africa) was a net benefit for the indigenous peoples.
“The Case for Colonialism“, written by Bruce Gilley, was first published in a 2017 edition of Third World Quarterly magazine.
You might want to read the entire article before it is lost forever.
The on line publisher, Taylor & Francis, received death threats and withdrew the publication.
If you can’t find it at the link above, contact us via Droveria. We have a PDF copy.
Here is the abstract from Mr. Gilley’s article –
This paper is an important read.
The cost to the Western world is immense.
Whether or not the recipient countries are benefiting is another matter.
Some argue that development aid encourages malfeasance and corruption, thereby retarding development – antithetical to the goal.
Joe asks what in the world is wrong with Africa?
I say low IQ.
Low enough to inhibit development and progress.
Corruption runs rampant.
Joe suspects an inverse relation with IQ and virtue.
Enter the conversation between Jared Taylor and Stefan Molyneux:
Joe listened and read carefully.
Perhaps low IQ Africa (and any other low IQ societies) would be better off with the modern version of colonial guidance.
The Chinese are already doing so in a most nefarious way – by insinuating their government via economic development into the host country. The net result is the host country cannot repay the Chinaman, who gradually takes over the country’s infrastructure.
Time for Rudyard Kipling’s “White Man’s Burden” poem to be posted (again) – Take up the White Man’s burden—
Send forth the best ye breed—
Go send your sons to exile
To serve your captives’ need
To wait in heavy harness
On fluttered folk and wild—
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child
Take up the White Man’s burden
In patience to abide
To veil the threat of terror
And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple
An hundred times made plain
To seek another’s profit
And work another’s gain
Take up the White Man’s burden—
And reap his old reward:
The blame of those ye better
The hate of those ye guard—
The cry of hosts ye humour
(Ah slowly) to the light:
“Why brought ye us from bondage,
“Our loved Egyptian night?”
Take up the White Man’s burden-
Have done with childish days-
The lightly proffered laurel,
The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood
Through all the thankless years,
Cold-edged with dear-bought wisdom,
The judgment of your peers! (An analysis here.)
Another gem from Prager U.
This is professor Sean McDowell explaining why sex matters:
POLITICS, POLITICIANS, WACKJOBBERY, HUMOROUS, STUPID
Above in this rant is a conversation between Jared Taylor and Stefan Molyneux.
The Sunday Sermon this week is an
interview interrogation of Jared Taylor by an ABC personality, Amna Nawaz.
This woman argues every data point and fact that Mr. Taylor presents.
Every time Mr. Taylor does manage to speak, she quickly deflects, denies, or changes the subject when she realizes how flimsy her argument.
Joe and I have seen this data in too many formats, forums, and papers to question Mr. Taylor’s quoting them.
We also don’t argue strenuously against his desire, and his motivation.
Call us racists:
WEATHER (OR NOT)
Old Man Winter is down for the count.
The weather in Vernon BC this week has been gradually warming during the day, with below zero Celsius overnight.
The snow (one last go on Tuesday) is gradually receding.
Today (Sunday) was mild enough for T shirt only when in the sun.
Joe and I think that old people die in larger numbers in the winter.
The sun felt so good on our old wrinkled skin we flirted with dozing off, sitting in a chair in the sunlight without a care.
Got a vitamin D high.
The cartoon above is slightly out of date (calendar wise) but reflects our desire.
Here’s where we are –
Only 15 days to April 1st.
