PN:
Yesterday, I finished my facilitation contract for the year in Kamloops. An anthem from The Who (greatest rock band ever) – Woodstock 1969 –

Next workshop is January. I am, indeed, FREE!
However, I’ve got 6 inches of snow to shovel (snowfalls 4, 5, and 6 happened while I was gone), and plans to get my house ready for sale by late spring.
Alas, the winter doldrums are upon me……. Cabin fever…….. crazy thoughts about sand, sun, salami…… well, not salami. That’s a code word for “libations”, which I couldn’t use because it destroys the alliteration. See what I mean?
During this season, one must swallow the bile of jealousy for the “grass is greener” dreams of what is and what will never be……
What to do?
A fella needs a good, solid, inspirational speech to get motivated. But where in this politically correct world can one find a no nonsense straight goods reality based boots on the ground fire under your ass no holds-barred get moving constructive stimulating barn burner of a speech?
Well, look no farther! Here is a US Marine addressing a group of “trained” Iraq “police”. It is truly masterful. Take the time to watch:

If you’re at work, you might think to turn your speakers down a tad. The vernacular and choice of expression is raw. I can only hope the translator is mimicking EXACTLY what the illustrious Marine is saying. The saying goes that some things get lost in the translation. This Marine’s passion will get through despite a language barrier. His tone and body language ARE the message!
You are all (like me) tired of the Global® Warming© “debate”™. Some of you (you know who you are!) believe it is the end of the world, and the rest of us realize it is one more scam propagated to strip you bare of whatever wealth you may have managed to accumulate.
At SmallDeadAnimals.com I listened to Richard S. Lindzen (MIT – prof. Meteorology) discuss the issues. Do yourself a favor, and listen to the entire recording. Here it is on YouTube:

During this discussion, he mentioned a book that warrants scrutiny – “But Is It True?” – written by Aaron Wildavsky. It was written in 1998 and published posthumously. It is still available, and still pertinent per Mr. Lindzen. Here is a review of the book written by someone named Bruce Anderson grabbed from Amazon.com:
This book is an essential tool for those who truly wish to understand more about environmental health and safety issues. Worried about global warming? Concerned about pesticide residues in food? Look no further than this reference. The author sets out to objectively evaluate environmental health issues. All sides of a particular issue are explored in depth. Those that do not stand up to scientific scrutiny are exposed. At the end of the book, an explanation of how environmental issues get reported is addressed.
One of the most important parts of this book is that the author challenges the reader to become a responsible citizen. His premise is that becoming educated on these issues takes some work but is absolutely necessary in order to have the background to make informed decisions about important environmental issues.
The book is extensively researched and referenced. It provides a greal deal of information on a variety of subjects from toxic scares to global warming. Although the information presented is technical, the authors do a comendable job of organizing the information into a readily understandable format.
Absolutely a must read for anyone concerned about the environment.
The world needs rational, non-political (ergo objective) scientific commentators who the layman can understand. Us laypersons need to adopt an “I’m from Missouri” (the show me state). This excludes saint David Suzuki, and all of his ilk. I will probably buy this book – have any of you read it?
A little late for American Thanksgiving, but here’s a cute cartoon (with political overtones, of course) –
I can’t believe my eyes!
The SUN has poked through the clouds!
Time to shovel the driveway for the 4th time this year…..
