Sunday Rant – 4122

Joe’s Comment – once again, for the second week, I’ve got little to say about the events of the world.  There are several reasons that drive my disinterest.  Autumn advances, and the fall rains / early snows haven’t begun yet.  I have too many projects on the go to get them completed before the nasty weather sets in and ruins my party.  Although I have a 24 x 30 shop, an attached garage, and a 20 x 30 tent, I do most of my projects outdoors.  Consequently, all the projects on the go are exposed to the vagaries of weather.
Also, I’ve been very busy with family events de jour.
This rant has little info outside my weekly collection of memes and cartoons and pictures that caught my fancy.
4122 is short and sweet.
There is, of course, sarcasm here and there.
It is a way of life…..

Quick Dick McDick
A new QDMcD video this week.
Saskatchewan’s ambassador to the world presents the Saskatchewan ATV regulations that are required by law.  Or not:

Californians Move to Texas | Episode2: The Cookout
The Babylon Bee is a fount of humor.
As funny as episode 1:

Joe’s Garage

An interesting analysis of an old myth.
Mike Kojima (Editor in Chief) gives a detailed explanation that reduces to the following – back pressure not good, gas velocity very good.
Worth the time to watch:

Another on the advantages and disadvantages of short or long tube headers.
Both products are designed to improve efficiency, ergo improve mileage/performance/economy.

Sunday Rant – 4022

Joe’s Comment – I follow the wisdom of Steve Bannon when he said “there are no conspiracies, but there are also no coincidences”.
The concept of “toxic masculinity” is appallingly laughable.
The phrase “white privilege” is an insult.
A greedy, hyper consuming culture is growing to hate itself.
The following chart has a characteristic that is obvious on observation.
Note this chart only goes back to 1860 –
Scientists’ images are placed on a timeline between 1860 and 1980. They are arranged in 5 fields: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science. Some of the scientists include Charles Darwin, Albert Einstein, David Hilbert, Marie Curie and Alan Turing.

This week’s Sunday Rant is a montage of topics that interest me.
I’m going to play with my toys and enjoy every last warm day of this year.
The World and all its problems will just have to sit down and shut up for a while.
Perhaps some inspiration from Jordan Peterson, Bjørn Lomborg and Ralph Schoellhammer is in order.
Enough with we are doomed!
How about improving the already fabulous world we live in?
There otta be a law saying you can’t complain unless you have a viable solution to the complaint.

Quick Dick McDick
There is no new QDMcD for this week.
Canada needs good will more than ever.
Joe and I delved into the QDMcD Ub2b channel for an early episode.
Here’s his commentary on “The WE charity scandal” from 2020:

President David Herman
Sometimes humor is too close to reality to be funny.
This skit by Mad TV was performed ten years ago.
The U.S. of A. might do better with a drunk.
They certainly haven’t done well with the string of Democrat perverts that were elected over the last 30 years.
Perhaps Mad TV was parodying the movie “Idiocracy“.
Joe thinks you’d have to be out of your mind to want to be President:

Joe’s Garage

South Main Auto
Eric O. is the proprietor of this small auto repair shop in Avoca NY.
Joe is in awe of Eric O.’s diagnostic abilities.
We have been watching his videos for years.
This one is classic Eric O.
The dealer came up short.  They were unable to repair their own product!
Our hero talks us through his logic in analyzing the problem.
As our grade 10 math teacher, Ms. Morrison used to say, defining the problem is 95% of the solution:

Proper Human Diet
Dr. Ken Berry says get your PHD!
His argument is the human species evolved and flourished with a certain diet.
People are more or less flexible in obtaining nutritional requirements from various food sources.
There is a “best” diet for each human.
The following video features Lillie Kane interviewing Mary Ruddick.
Ms. Ruddick has an amazing smile, and an amazing career.
Her past was marred by crippling health issues.
The medical community was inept in that they didn’t find a path to health for Mary.  She tells her story in this video.  The solution was nutrition – a proper human diet for Mary Ruddick.
Her career is nutrition.  She travels the world searching for answers to nutritional mysteries, and offers possible remedies for dietary issues people have that lessen their quality of life.
Joe and I learned some key facts that may have value to ourself.  We are devising a trial test and we are the guinea pig.
Our search for the proper human diet is being fine tuned, thanks to the Internet and people like Lillie and Mary:

Monster Bug Wars
Joe and I love the Internet with all our mind!
Where else could we be entertained (and educated) for hours and days for the slender price of $80.00 CDN per month?
Here are the top 10 bug fights.
Joe and I couldn’t stop watching this repulsive and fascinating display of Mother Nature in all her gory glory.
Capital YUCK!:

The Cerutti Mastodon Puzzle
When did humans first walk onto the North American continent?
Early humans populating this continent is the topic of the video below.
If this analysis is true, anthropology has a lot of ‘splainin’ to do.
Milo of Miniminuteman describes the current knowledge about people on this continent over one hundred thousand years ago:
